The NSW Government is splashing the cash again, with all adults in NSW to receive a $50 “Stay and Rediscover” voucher in 2022, to help boost the state’s tourism sector.
NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet said the vouchers form part of a $500 million investment program to “drive tourism opportunities right across the state”, half of which is allocated to the voucher redemption scheme.
Mr Perrottet said he wanted the tourism funding to “supercharge” businesses and attractions.
“We know that the borders will open, and we want to be ahead of the curve here in NSW when it comes to ensuring that tourism comes back with a bang,” said Perrottet.
He said the accommodation program is being piloted and will kick-in statewide next March. The vouchers will be available in the Service NSW app.
NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet announced the $500 million tourism revival package on Wednesday.
Last week the state government announced residents would receive two additional $25 Dine and Discover vouchers, to use towards hospitality and entertainment and valid until June 2022.
As part of the $500 million boost into NSW, $25 million has been proposed for a Festival Relaunch Package – and a further $50 million has been allocated for a CBD Revitalisation Program, to support events in and around Sydney city.
Another $60 million will head towards an Aviation Attraction Fund, aiming to see international flights in Sydney on the agenda again.
