Want to buy a weekender? Mosman family offering their incredible slice of Central Coast paradise!
By ANNA USHER.
It’s easy to see why city slickers have fallen in love with the Central Coast.
Just an hour’s drive north of Sydney, the region is a glorious haven of pretty seaside towns along a breathtaking stretch of coastline, unrivalled anywhere in the world.
With its wealth of bush walks, beaches and boating facilities, the Central Coast is now considered Sydney’s hip new cousin; an “experience destination” that offers everything from foodie feasts to music festivals, without losing any of its country charm.
Despite the recent rise in popularity, 80 per cent of this picture-perfect region remains completely untouched. And, away from the heaving hot spots of Terrigal, Avoca and McMasters, you can still find undiscovered gems, nestled away on secret beaches.
Take for example, this blissful sanctuary, blessed with 11km of beachfront, and not a person in sight.
“We always wanted a weekender on the beach, but Whale Beach and Palm Beach in Sydney were out of reach for us,” Paul Evans says, “then we discovered the magic of the Central Coast.”
With two growing children, Paul and wife Amanda were looking for an escape within two hours of the city, that was close to the beach - but not heavily populated.
“We looked at a lot of places on the Coast and nothing was quite right,” he says, “and then, like a bolt out of the blue, we hit the jackpot.”
It was on a weekend trip to prestigious Magenta Shores golf course, when Paul and Amanda found their own piece of paradise - right next door to Tuggerah Beach.
Not only was the beachfront, bottom floor duplex immaculate, private and stylish, it also came with its own private beach.
“It then became an absolute no-brainer – and we purchased the property almost immediately,” Paul said.
“Since then, we’ve spent most of our weekends – and every school holiday – right here on the beach.”
With the trip from Sydney just 90 minutes door-to-door, Paul said the family often decide to stay an extra night, heading back to the big smoke on Monday morning – arriving in time for school.
“We spend every minute on the beach, either swimming, walking, body-boarding or barbecuing - and it’s been a brilliant chapter in our lives,” he says.
Now, an interstate move is on the cards, and the Evans family must say farewell to their much-loved weekender, which awaits a new family to experience all that it offers.
Featuring three large bedrooms, including an incredible Master suite with ocean views, the property is immaculate in every way.
Stylish travertine flooring, a designer kitchen, new carpets and landscaped gardens have been carefully thought out - and heavy duty, commercial doors and windows ensure the home is protected from the elements year-round.
“The property is on the ground floor of a duplex, so we’ve had the thrill of our very own beach – 11 kilometres of it - right at the back door,” Paul says.
“We’ve had no need for expensive overseas holidays or tiresome road trips because this place has it all.
“It is the great Australian dream come true.”
