BALMORAL.

Police say they will amp up evening patrols at Balmoral after a noisy ‘gatho’ near The Esplanade last weekend.

Local officers were called to the beach at 8pm on Saturday, after a number of residents reported a large group of ‘lads’ (#eshaybruz) causing a ruckus by smashing bottles, yelling obscenities and harassing members of the public. 

Police confiscated alcohol from several 15 and 16-year-olds, and moved them on from the area due to intoxication.

Juveniles are reminded that severe penalties apply to minors who possess alcohol – and a fine of $1100 applies to any adult supplying liquor to a person under the age of 18.

MOSMAN.

A number of vehicles have been broken into on Badham Ave, Mosman St and Raglan St. Seven cars were found with smashed windows on Monday night, with others reported to be missing property from inside. Offenders stole cash, coke, foreign currency and a torch. Police would like to remind residents not to leave ANY items of value in their cars.

CREMORNE.

A Bitcoin bandit is on the loose, after a Cremorne man reported being scammed of $7584 in a bogus cryptocurrency scheme. Believed to be based in Dublin, the local investor was told he could not have his money back until it rose in value to $US11,000. The man told police he has been unable to retrieve his money or contact the dodgy digital dealer.

CROWS NEST.

A man of Indian appearance, with an Indian accent exposed himself to a 24-year-old woman in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The woman was walking home on Shirley Rd, Crows Nest, when she was approached by the man, described as 170cm tall and wearing a grey hoodie, at around 1am. 

The offender approached the woman near the fire station, offering her a cigarette. After declining and continuing her journey, the woman was grabbed on the arm from behind, near the corner of Duntroon Ave.  

The man made a lewd comment and exposed himself as the horrified victim ran away.
