Mystery Buyers: Boathouse owners Andrew and Pip Goldsmith abandon ship and sell waterfront dining empire.
After months of mounting financial pressure, Balmoral Boathouse owners Andrew and Pip Goldsmith have sold their hospitality group to mystery buyers.
The Boathouse Group owns eight waterfront venues, including its Mosman location and employs more than 500 people.
In a statement to Manly Daily reporter Jim O’Rourke, the Goldsmiths confirmed the business had been purchased by a “local consortium” of two family investment offices in NSW, but declined to reveal their identity.
“The Group’s rapid expansion in the previous year, particularly the opening of The Boathouse Hotel Patonga and Barrenjoey House, resulted in the need to rectify financial pressures and recapitalise,” the statement said.
The Goldsmiths said customers could expect “business as usual” across all venues, stating they would still manage the day-to-day operation of The Boathouse Group venues.
