The annual Bathers’ Gold Lunch is one of Sydney’s most anticipated society events, boasting an impressive line up of high profile local residents and business people.

Organised by Committee Co-Chairs Amanda Scammell and Belinda Russell, the charity lunch has supported the Sydney Children’s Hospital Foundation for more than a decade, this year raising vital funds for Zero Childhood Cancer (ZCC).

“People helping people makes this world a better place and the money raised at the Bathers’ Gold Lunch this year will make a huge difference and help give kids with high risk cancer a fighting chance,” Belinda said.

“It offers Australia’s first ever personalised medicine program and is an integral step towards curing every child.”

Prestige real estate agent Michael Coombs has lent support to the program, donating $40,000 for the next two years, as Presenting Partner of the exclusive event.

“As a family man, with a child of my own, I can only imagine what some parents must be going through, which is why I felt so passionately about getting involved,” he said.

“By supporting the Bathers’ Gold Lunch, I hope we can help the families who are in need of the new and potentially life-saving treatments that ZCC is discovering.”

A stunning three-course menu, provided by Serge Dansereau to more than 100 guests, is a stunning example of the “incredible generosity” displayed by locals, Committee Co-Chair Amanda Scammell said.

“We couldn’t do it without the generosity of Serge,” she told Mosman Collective.

“His support has been unwavering, with this being his 13th year as host.

“Not only does he donate his beautiful restaurant for the afternoon, but he also spoils our guests with the most exquisite lunch.”

With a 2019 target of $70,000 set, Amanda said local support for the Kids Cancer Centre at Sydney Children’s Hospital has this year exceeded all expectations.

“We are thrilled to have not just hit our target – but nearly doubled it,” she said.

“We are blown away by the generosity of our patrons and supporters, what an incredible community we live in.”
