It's the house with a price tag that takes your breath away.
8 Wonga Rd, Cremorne changed hands this morning for about $20 million, after weeks of negotiating with several interested parties.
The eight bedroom, 1081sqm home, with five spectacular levels overlooking Willoughby Bay, sold to a local Chinese buyer.
Uber agent Michael Coombs tells Mosman Collective he is "absolutely thrilled" with the sale, confirming that waterfront, trophy homes are still in high demand around Mosman.
"We had seven contracts out on this property, which proves there's a lot of buyers out there with big money to spend on the right home," he said.
"PRESTIGE BUYERS ARE OUTWEIGHING SUPPLY IN MOSMAN AND CREMORNE."
- Michael Coombs.
"I think people have realised the opportunities to buy world class homes of this calibre are diminishing, and they just don't hit the market very often.
"Cashed-up local, expat and Chinese buyers are keen for luxury properties - and the demand outweighs supply."
Owned by Landscape builder Antony Tisch, the architectural masterpiece at 8 Wonga Rd fetched an incredible $18,500 per square metre, offering three kitchens, oak and hardwood fireplaces, multiple entertaining terraces and a stunning gazebo.
There's also a jetty, a pontoon with deep water berthing - and a boathouse.
Coombs brokered the deal with colleague Adrian Bridges, and says the Wonga Rd sale is his fourth suburb record in 12 months.
"I sold 'Glencoe' at 26 Wonga Rd earlier this year for a record price, and this home has beaten it," Coombs says.
"It's a world class property and we're thrilled with the outcome."
- Adrian Bridges
"Wonga Rd is a real hot spot due to its location, which borders Mosman, and it's easy access to the city.
"Added to this is the fact that its a quiet street and very family friendly."
With the Sydney property market cooling, Michael says luxury homes in the Mosman area are "doing better than ever".
"In fact, local prices in the prestige sector continue to climb," he said.
