WELL SELECTED CHAIRS ARE A FANTASTIC WAY TO SET THE TONE FOR YOUR DINING SPACE - BUT FINDING THE PERFECT ONE FOR YOU CAN BE SURPRISINGLY DIFFICULT, WRITES MOSMAN COLLECTIVE CONTRIBUTOR AND INTERIOR DESIGNER, LORI MURRAY.

Whether you are splurging or saving, one thing is clear – a good dining chair needs to be able to withstand everything from lively dinner parties to late night homework sessions and everything in between.

Here's a round-up of my Top 10 favourites - that feature in stylish Mosman homes this year:

1. Thonet

No. 811 "Hoffman"

This classic, designed in the late 1920’s, is made of solid beech frame and hand-woven cane seat and back. I am yet to see a dining table where these don’t suit.

2. COCO REpublic

"Rex"

We recently purchased 10 of these for a client’s huge dining table and they are thrilled with the result. Casual, contemporary and slightly industrial, these chairs are a great solution if you’re looking for something unique.
