My Mosman: Will Stewart

EACH WEEK, WE ASK A MOSMAN COLLECTIVE MATE TO SHARE THEIR FAVOURITE THINGS ABOUT LIVING IN SYDNEY'S MOST BEAUTIFUL SUBURB. TODAY, ALL-ROUND GOOD GUY WILL STEWART (WINNER OF SEVEN NETWORK'S MKR IN 2015), GIVES US HIS TAKE ON THE BEST LOCAL PLACES TO EAT, DRINK AND PLAY!

FAVOURITE COFFEE SHOP?

It has to be Street Bean in Myahgah Mews (across from Council Chambers).

Nina and Arthur are wonderful hosts who always have time for a chat and they have always been extremely supportive of the "Will and Steve" brand - and an event we ran as part of Good Food Month. The fact that locals are willing to support other locals is what communities are all about!

Oh, and Street Bean gets my Flat White bang on the money, every single time!

FAVOURITE MOSMAN EATERY?

I am a lover of Japanese food and Mino (on Military Rd) has never disappointed. They had to close for a bit but I’m pleased to see they’re back with a vengeance.

For locals and visitors though, I honestly reckon an awesome thing to do is to knock up a few dips, grab some lavosh, pickles and a bottle of wine or some beer and head down to one of our beaches.

There’s honestly nothing better! My all-time favourite Mosman restaurant has to be The Bathers Pavilion. I’d argue that brunch there is one of the best settings in the world.

MOST MEMORABLE MOSMAN MEAL?

When friends and family come to visit we always head to Bathers at breakfast time on the weekend for their baked beans! Returning guests actually request it (especially when I’m paying!) and it never disappoints.

WEEKENDS IN MOSMAN?

Again, it has to be Balmoral – either swimming at the beach, going for a walk or having a picnic on Rocky Point Island.

I honestly feel so blessed to live in this part of Sydney. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I'd end up living in such a beautiful place - and yet here I am!

Mosman in the height of summer means the water is warm, the days are long and the ocean is pristine. Amazing!

ON BEING A LOCAL CELEBRITY

Well, the women go wild when they see me. I’m forever being chased down the high street with a Chargrill Charlie's bag in one hand and a taser in the other!

BEST THING ABOUT LIVING IN 2088?

It has to be the community feel. Mosman has a terrible reputation for being snooty and snobby, but I don’t find that at all! People here are generally really friendly, especially over a beer and some chicken wings at The Duck! I love it there!
